Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society

BGAS hold meetings in both Bristol and Gloucestershire.

The Society organises talks on local history and archaeology topics; arranges expert-guided visits to places of historical and archaeological interest; publishes a journal containing articles on the latest local history research and archaeology findings; maintains a specialist research library; organises day conferences; awards grants for local history and archaeology research, and bursaries to enable young people to get experience on archaeology digs; and publishes edited transcripts of archival documents.

In Bristol, meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:45pm from September to May
