Maritime history research: The Rothley Index, a new online resource - a lunchtime talk via Zoom

Over recent years Rothley’s accounts have been transcribed by volunteers and augmented with further data from archival sources to produce an index of Bristol shipping from 1748 to 1795. The potential for this resource to enhance research and understanding of Bristol’s maritime trade is huge.

Join Sarah Taylor (Archives Assistant) and Anne Lovejoy (Senior Archivist) from Bristol Archives as  they explain the process of preparing the index and how you can use it. They will also examine some of the records used to enhance the index such as ships’ muster rolls.
